"1.8V DRAMs are an important part of DRAMs used in mobile applications. Adding 1.8V low power DRAMs to our DRAM product offering is part of ISSI's long-term commitment to support a complete range of low to medium DRAMs using leading-edge technology," said Sanjiv Asthana, ISSI vice president of sales and marketing. "The IS42VS16100C1 is the first in a broad range of 1.8V DRAMs that ISSI will offer, including a variety of densities, speeds and organizations."

Using advanced technology allows this low voltage, low power device to feature a very competitive die size. It is organized as 1MX16, has a 2K refresh, and runs at 100Mhz. It operates from a single 1.8V power supply and uses a LVTTL interface. The device is offered in a 400-mil 50-pin TSOP II package and is also available as known good die.

Providing both low voltage and low power, with a power-down, self-refresh current of 170uA Max, this 1.8V 16Mb SDRAM is used in a variety of high volume mobile applications, particularly where a multi-media co-processor is used, such as in cell phones, PDA's, and portable DVD players. It is also ideal for applications requiring battery back-up. This device is available in both the 50-pin TSOP II package and in die form to address the space constraints often found in mobile applications.

Price and Availability

For quantities of 10,000, the IS42VS16100C1, in the 50-pin TSOP II package with a 0 to 70 C operating range, is priced at $0.75. Samples and production quantities are available now.
