Mold CAE Solutions (Brampton, Ontario, Canada ) has introduced a quick, easy-to-use and low-cost flow analysis and decision support CAE software for injection molding. Users can quickly set up models and conduct analyses to obtain all major molding data in just minutes.
The software accurately calculates injection pressure, temperature distributions, shear rate, cooling time, clamping force, etc. Its applications include molding feasibility study, determination of number of gates, gate sizing/runner sizing, cycle time prediction, material selection, defining processing window, troubleshooting of molding problems and many others.
The software is aimed at broad users in the plastics industry, especially those who cannot easily access more complex and expensive flow analysis software. The software is so easy to use that new users can start using it after only a few minutes of practicing. MoldCAE is a stand-alone software package and flexible to use. It allows users to add new or update plastics material data.
One major feature of the software is its runner design functions. Engineers can utilize this effective tool in all kinds of runner evaluation jobs. With clear graphic commands and a few simple steps, they can quickly model any types of cold/hot runner systems (including valve gating, stack molds, family molds, etc) and perform analyses to establish proper runner layouts and sizes.
