Physik Instrumente (PI) in Germany will implement extended SSA ERP solutionCHICAGO—(BUSINESS WIRE)—July 5, 2005— SSA Global(TM)(NASDAQ: SSAG), a leading global provider of extended enterprise solutions and services, today announced the win of "Physik Instrumente (PI) GmbH & Co. KG" as a new customer in Germany.
PI, the world-leading supplier of nanopositioning technology, develops and manufactures high-precision systems that are being used in all important high-tech industries, such as semiconductors, biotechnology and medical engineering, precision engineering, telecommunications, aerospace engineering and astronomy. Headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, PI maintains production sites and sales offices in many countries around the world.
PI chose SSA Global's enterprise solutions as a result of an intensive selection process. In addition to SSA ERP LN, the company will implement SSA CRM, SSA CPM and SSA PLM. Implementation will start in the Karlsruhe headquarters and two German production sites. The solution will then be rolled out to sites in other European countries as well as in the US, China and Japan. 340 users will work with the new system.
The SSA Global solution will replace the existing heterogeneous systems and consolidate all applications into one consistent information infrastructure based on SSA ERP LN.
"We selected SSA Global because SSA ERP LN had the best cost/performance ratio of all evaluated solutions, and it meets our functional requirements to a very large extent", says Dr. Peter Schlittenhelm, vice president Operations of Physik Instrumente.
