ICEM Teams With Leading Spanish Industrial Design School, ELISAVA, At Barcelona Motor Show

Southampton, UK. 5 May, 2005. – ICEM Ltd., the leading surface modelling, surface quality analysis and design visualisation software developer, has announced that it has teamed with ELISAVA, the leading Spanish school of industrial design, to demonstrate the latest version of the ICEM Surf software suite at the International Commercial Car and Vehicle Show in Barcelona, (the Barcelona Motor Show), which takes place from 7 - 15 May, 2005. The company is also sponsoring the eve-of-show Designers’ Night party taking place at the Restaurant Mirab�the mountains above Barcelona on Friday, 6 May.

As the only car show in Spain to be officially recognised by the Paris-based Organisation Internationale des Constructuers d’Automobiles, (OICA), the Barcelona Motor Show is billed as a spectacular celebration of the motor community’. With 250,000 sq. m. of exhibition space and some 200 exhibitors showing their latest products to more than 1 million visitors, the show also coincides with the 2005 Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix taking place at the same time near Barcelona.

ICEM will be present on the ELISAVA stand at the show, where it will show how its ICEM Surf software is used by automotive OEMs, suppliers and design houses to create the complex, high quality shapes found on today’s vehicles and to generate the surface model data required for manufacturing a vehicle’s many body and interior trim components.

Founded in 1961 and with over 1,500 students and more than 500 teachers and collaborators, ELISAVA is a learning centre affiliated to the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, (UPF). The school offers degrees in design, technical architecture and technical engineering in industrial design, as well as Master’s and postgraduate degrees and continuing education aimed as a response to emerging careers.
