Givat Shmuel, Israel, February 7, 2002 - Cimatron Ltd., (NASDAQ: CIMT) a leading developer of CAD/CAM solutions for the tooling industry, today announced the success of its European joint venture project with Zwicker Systems GmbH, world-renown developer of DNC, automation and networking software. Specially designed for mold, tool and die makers, over 30,000 Zwicker licenses have been installed at leading manufacturers worldwide, including Black & Decker, BMW, Daimler Chrysler, Fiat, Perlos, Siemens, Swarovski, and Voest-Alpine-Steel.
Zwicker's software systems include WINDNCPlus!, an intelligent directing center which, via Windows, automatically connects CNC machines within a production facility, and WINSTATFramework, an information system to store technical data required for tool and die production. Zwicker's manufacturing software is directly integrated with Cimatron's QuickElectrode application, enabling paperless information flow - from electrode design to NC programming, through to the manufacturing of a part or mold. The combination of QuickElectrode and WINSTATFramework provides a specific automated solution for the design and production of the entire electrode process, from electrode identification through to cavity sinking EDM.
Hans-Georg Zwicker, General Manager at Zwicker Systems, comments, "The partnership between our two companies benefits us both and provides our customers with superior solutions, tailored to meet their needs. I am confident that our sustained relationship will enhance our strong customer base throughout Europe."
Leading European moldmakers to have implemented this integrated solution, include Mason Pinder (U.K.), INCOS (Italy), and Promatrix (The Netherlands). Using QuickElectrode and WINSTATFramework, Cimatron customers such as Mason Pinder were able to increase their CNC machine utilization by 30% and reduce setting time on their EDM machines to minutes - a process that would otherwise, take hours to complete. This process was achieved with a 25% reduction in CAD/CAM resources, using QuickElectrode to create the electrode design and production information within the CAD/CAM department.
Nadav Katz, Executive VP Marketing at Cimatron, comments, "With the implementation of Zwicker's software systems and Cimatron's QuickElectrode, our customers have streamlined their electrode design and manufacturing to levels never before achieved. This offers the tooling industry a level of automation that exists in only high-level production lines."
