Under the terms of the contract, 3Dsolve will develop simulation-based e-learning materials to instruct Los Angeles-class attack submarine personnel in Force Protection and Anti-Terrorism (FP/AT) procedures for in-port security. Using the laptop computers already deployed on US submarines, students will be able to review and practice critical security procedures while still at sea. The simulations being developed will encompass security procedures for both the exterior environment around the submarine as well as the interior environment of the submarine.
"We're excited to be developing courseware for the US Naval Submarine Learning Center," said Richard Boyd, CEO of 3Dsolve. "Building on existing video-based courseware, the simulation-based learning tools we're developing will give the US Navy a platform for training that is quickly adaptable to new vessels, new ports, and new training requirements."
3Dsolve expects to deliver the final courseware to SOBT and the SLC in the first half of 2005.
