PLMIG discusses Class A PLM at PI Munich - calls for US input

Oxford, England. February 23 2016 -- However good your PLM implementation, there is no way of officially recognising the fact. The PLM industry has had no way of measuring what is "advanced", due to a widespread lack of metrics.

There is now a well-defined PLM Delivery process that enables users and vendors to generate agreed metrics for every aspect of PLM. It is now possible to show exactly how advanced an implementation is, using a wide range of indicators that were not available before.

This makes it possible to establish an internationally-agreed level of high performance, that users, vendors and integrators will be able to aim for.

The provisional name for this high level of performance is 'Class A PLM'. This is an interim working title, but it gives a focus for the early discussions.

The concept of Class A PLM will be discussed informally at PI Munich 2016, but input is also needed from the USA. Anyone can join in the discussion and add their views or suggestions via .

The PLM Interest Group
The PLM Interest Group is the leading neutral industry group for PLM. It has produced the PLM Project Justification Handbook for PLM financial justification; the PLMuERP Handbook for enterprise-wide PLM-ERP integration; as well as tools for Benchmarking, Maturity Measurement and Self-Assessment.
