PLM-IRF publishes Global Industrial PLM Survey results

Oxford, England. April 14, 2015 -- The PLM-IRF has compiled the results from the Global Survey into Industrial Expectations for the Future of PLM, and the Summary Document has been circulated to the participants.

With 62 responses from 15 countries, this represents the largest collection of neutral views on the future of the PLM industry that has ever been assembled. The Summary Document sets out:
  • the Current Shortfalls in PLM
  • what Manufacturing will be like in 2025
  • how PLM will need to change to support this
The results are expressed in a narrative format, using the participants' own words, in order to capture the full breadth of ideas that are proposed. The list of headings covers everything from high level Management and Leadership to the technical subjects such as PLM functionality and licensing.

The predictions for PLM fall into two areas: elimination of current problems, bringing the developments of the past 20 years to successful fruition; and new capabilities for PLM that will transform its scope and effectiveness. There now needs to be an industry-wide debate about how the advanced scenarios for PLM can be achieved.

The latest information is available via the PLM-IRF web site, or via Email Contact.
