Capvidia Releases FaceWorks 2004

New Enhancements Provide Most Comprehensive Set Of Tools For Complex Mold Design within SolidWorks. Leuven, Belgium, February 19, 2004- Capvidia announces the release of FaceWorks 2004 add-in to SolidWorks for Mold Design. FaceWorks is a Certified Gold Product that provides the necessary functionality to quickly create complex molds in the SolidWorks. Mold & Tool Shops need to become more competitive in today’s economy. They need to shorten their mold design process and improve the quality of their work. The way to do this is to adopt the latest technology. The SolidWorks 2004 with Mold Tools is a step in the right direction, but the functionality is still not enough to positively improve complex mold design process. FaceWorks 2004 adds a few essential functions and easy to use operations that make mold & tool shops efficient and more competitive. “Our objective is to provide easy and efficient solutions for the most difficult part of the mold design process”, said Lyle Fischer, Technical Marketing Director for Capvidia. “The new functions in FaceWorks 2004 release not only make mold design very easy, but save a lot of time. Coupled with FormatWorks, our Certified Gold Product for data translation, repair and healing, it is an unbeatable combination for tool shops.” With FaceWorks 2004, Capvidia provides new functions that further ease the core/cavity creation, by providing: 1. Closing Openings – command to automatically close several types of complex 3D openings: o Telescopic Openings – formed by 3D stepped contours (e.g. clips) o Complex Opening – formed by complex 3D contour including many edges (e.g. openings in a instrument panel) 2. Multi-Split Extension – automatic definition of parting lines for inserts. 3. Slider Surface – creates a slider surface for inserts or moving elements. 4. User defined “Skin” Surface - uses imported 'skin' surface (parting surface with the nest) to generate mold assembly. 5. New Insert Workflow – organizes the workflow for creation of inserts using solid modeling base techniques. FaceWorks combines the power of standard SolidWorks with functions designed to simplify tooling and manufacturing applications on 3D CAD models. FaceWorks is fully integrated with SolidWorks uisng the latest user interface concepts (property page). You work in one integrated environment combining standard SolidWorks functions with specialized easy to use mold tools simplifying the tool-making process and minimizing costs and manufacturing times.
