AB Sandvik Comorant and Pathtrace PLC have signed a worldwide agreement to co-operate on joint future developments for new machining techniques for both Production Machining and Mold and Die applications, including High Speed Machining. As a result of the agreement, Pathtrace and Sandvik will carry out joint R & D efforts to ensure new development that matches the future demand across the broad spectrum of the manufacturing industry.
As part of the agreement, Pathtrace will also supply its EdgeCAM software, training and technical support to Sandvik's worldwide network of produtivity and training centeres, enabling customers to experience the benefits of Sandvik tooling combine with EdgeCAM machining expertise. Future releases of EdgeCAM will benefit from a comprehensive database of Sandvik tooling, complete with appropriate material feed and speed cutting data, ensuring customers have access to the complete range of Sandvik tools.
The deal extends long standing collaboration agreements between the two companies which has included projects to directly utilize data from the Sandvik tool management product, AutoTAS, within EdgeCAM.
