IES and Gaia Geothermal Offer Geothermal Bundle for HVAC Engineers

Easily transfer hourly loads data calculated using IES’ Apache software into Gaia Geothermal’s leading Ground Loop Design software

BOSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — January 12, 2010 — This flexible, user-friendly Geothermal Bundle is comprised of both the IES and the Gaia Geothermal Ground Loop Design (GLD) software suite. The Bundle enables geothermal HVAC designers/engineers to first calculate hourly loads data using the Apache whole-building dynamic thermal engine built into the IES . Designers can then easily import the hourly loads data into the GLD software to select geothermal heat pumps, determine the appropriate lengths of bore/pipe required for vertical, horizontal, surface water and hybrid heat exchangers, optimize the piping layout to minimize circulation pump requirements, and calculate the annual and lifetime energy/operating/emissions costs associated with the design. The Bundle provides designers with the optimal toolset for the design of high-performance, cost-effective geothermal systems.

IES interconnectivity with BIM/CAD programs ensures 2D/3D models can be easily imported, using gbXML/DXF capabilities, plug-ins to Revit® and SketchUp™, or our tight connectivity with ArchiCAD® (note- this sentence that you wrote sounds a bit strange to me). Models can also be created from scratch within the IES ModelIT application.
