Cadence Launches 'Industry Insights' Design Community Blog

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Mar 31, 2009 -- Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS), the leader in global electronic design innovation, announced today that it has launched ' Industry Insights,' a new blog on its recently redesigned website. The blog is hosted by industry expert and respected journalist Richard Goering and resides at Goering has covered the electronics industry for over 20 years in both print and online publications including Computer Design, EETimes, and, and is a recipient of the 2007 ACM SIGDA Distinguished Service award.

Changes in readership habits have resulted in a trend towards online rather than print as the primary communication medium. Changes in publishing priorities have also resulted in reduced coverage overall of electronic design by the traditional trade press titles. As a consequence there is a marked reduction in editorial commentary provided to help readers identify issues and trends, develop perspectives, and gain a broader view of the industry. The Industry Insights blog will aim to address these issues and drive broader conversations on topics of interest to the electronics design community.

"The introduction of the Industry Insights blog is a natural extension of the social networking approach that we adopted when we launched the new website mid last year," said Adolph Hunter, vice president of corporate marketing at Cadence. "It will provide an enhanced platform for peer-to-peer dialogue and commentary on the many issues, challenges, and innovations that impact engineers and design managers in their everyday work, and we are delighted to have Richard, a respected industry journalist, host it and lend his deep knowledge, credibility and industry view to our efforts."
