Robot CMM Arm (RCA) combines the best of two worlds: the automation of a
horizontal-arm CMM with the accessibility and mobility of an articulated arm
RCA, the world's first Robot CMM Arm, offers the automation capability
of a traditional CMM and the mobility and part accessibility of an
articulated arm. It is designed to increase the speed, flexibility and
accuracy of repetitive 3D laser scanning inspection jobs on the shop
floor or in the assembly line.

Highlights of the newsmagazine:
Upgrade your current CMM with a Metris laser scanner
has been pioneering CMM laser scanning since its foundation in 1995. By
working closely with key players in the automotive and aerospace
industry, laser scanning technology and data processing have been
optimized, resulting in the most complete laser scanning offering on
Metris offers you three good reasons to upgrade your CMM with a Metris laser scanner:
1. Simplified measurement and processing setup
2. Reduced measurement time
3. Unique capability to measure freeform and soft surfaces
Janicki utilizes Laser Radar for fully automatic inspection of large aircraft composites
Industries pioneers innovative composite tooling and produces
large-scale lightweight prototype parts for major OEM aircraft
manufacturers. Strict tooling deadlines and high-precision
manufacturing requirements have driven the use of Metris Laser Radars.
With its field of vision covering a 60 meter radius, Metris Laser Radar
captures massive composite components accurately, with minimum operator
involvement and without SMRs or other remote devices.
RCR deploys Metris iGPS to transform NASCAR body facility into metrology area
three Richard Childress Racing (RCR) teams qualified for the Chase for
2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup. To step up success rate in 2008, RCR recently
transformed its new facility for race car body fabrication into an iGPS
enabled large-scale metrology environment. Adding higher precision and
throughput to the car fabrication process increases the competitive
edge of RCR.
PSA Peugeot Citroën quadruples scanning productivity with Metris MMD
upgrading metrology equipment with an MMD scanner for non-contact 3D
measurement, PSA radically increased scanning productivity. PSA
engineers take the portable systems to any location or site, set it up
and measure parts on the spot. Featuring 100 mm laser stripe width and
all-digital operation, the MMD enables PSA metrology engineers to
complete detailed geometric scans of small to large vehicle body parts
in record time.
PartnerTech bolsters capability for rapid new product introduction with Metris X-ray inspection system
one of Europe’s leading electronics contract manufacturing companies,
selected an X-ray inspection system to test high-complex electronic
boards. The new X-ray system will further improve PartnerTech’s
capability of providing customers with fast-turn builds of highly
complex electronic and mechatronic products featuring devices such as
Ball Grid Arrays (BGAs) and Chip Scale packages (CSPs).
Control show: April 22-25 - Stuttgart, Germany
At Control 2008, Metris demonstrated its wide range of innovative metrology solutions, including
3D laser scanning
X-ray and Computed Tomography
. Metris additionally released the brand new
- the Robot CMM Arm - and
