ARAI to set Engine R&D with Flowmaster V7 Automotive

In December 2007 the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) purchased their first Flowmaster V7 Automotive license. Flowmaster was selected after rigorous evaluation as part of ARAI’s overall R&D, Testing and Certification strategy. ARAI is a premier automotive R&D institute in India offering design and development services to its customers in the area of engines, NVH, structural dynamics and CAE.  ARAI extends technical assistance to the Government of India in the formulation of automotive standards.

Flowmaster V7 Automotive is an industry dedicated fluid and thermal system simulation software tool. Built upon the Flowmaster V7 platform, V7 Automotive combines the same proven architecture and GUI with specific automotive component libraries and advanced automotive systems modelling functionality.

Flowmaster’s architecture allows users to integrate with existing design and manufacturing systems and co-simulate with other leading CAE/CFD tools.
“Our vision to use state-of-the-art technology to influence the design and development of automobiles in India required us to find a system simulation tool offering the highest possible technical capability.  Flowmaster V7 Automotive provides us with advanced simulation capabilities requiring minimal component data to enable us to run simulations and obtain accurate results from the outset” explains N V Marathe, Deputy Director (Engine Development Lab.) of ARAI.

ARAI will be supported by Aetos Design & Engineering, the exclusive distributor of Flowmaster in India. Aetos’s Design and Engineering Services Division has a dedicated team of Design Engineers providing technically focused services to OEM and tier one companies, from concept design to manufacturing using best in class CAD/CAM and CAE solutions.

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), located in Pune – 160 km south-east of Mumbai, is a research institute established by the automotive industry and the Government of India.  ARAI plays a crucial role in assuring safe, less polluting and more efficient vehicles in India and provides vital technical expertise in R&D, testing, certification and framing of vehicle regulations.

Flowmaster look forward to further serving the rapidly growing automotive sector in India in close collaboration with ARAI.
