AIA members gain free access to information on 80,000 products through AIA knowledge portal, Soloso
"McGraw-Hill Construction is very excited to be working with the AIA to serve its members by integrating building manufacturers' product information from the McGraw-Hill Construction Sweets Network into this new, powerful tool," said Per Lofving, McGraw-Hill Construction senior director. "In addition to finding products in Soloso, AIA members will also be able to link directly to detailed information in the Network, where they can download product catalogs, CAD details, 3D models, and 3-part specifications -- saving the architect time, helping them make better decisions about products, and ensuring accuracy," he added.
Mark Carpenter, AIA general manager, eKnowledge explained, "The addition of the McGraw-Hill Construction Sweets Network as a knowledge source will extend Soloso to help architects research, select and specify products to be used in their designs. Now, architects will be able to search for products in Soloso, and using powerful navigation tools, will be able to further pinpoint what they need. McGraw-Hill Construction will provide AIA with regular updates as building product manufacturers change or add information on Sweets Network."
"Manufacturer information will be available to AIA members through Soloso automatically, at no charge to the architect or manufacturer," said Mr. Lofving. "This makes McGraw-Hill Construction's agreement with AIA's Soloso a win-win for the industry, connecting architects with the manufacturers' deep knowledge of their products and ensuring that AIA members always have the most up-to-date information available."
