Sheffield, UK, 9thth February 2007: NavisWorks Ltd., developers of interactive viewing technology and JetStream, the leading 3D design review solution today announced the release of a new version of JetStream v5. Enhancements in this latest version include improved .dgn support with specific benefits for users of Bentley products AutoPLANT and Building Electrical Systems.
JetStream v5.3 delivers enhancements to file support in both the core JetStream Roamer and the RVM Reader plug-in for Roamer to review files generated by AVEVA PDMS (Plant Design Management System). A huge increase in .dgn file fidelity results from introducing support for ACIS-based SmartSolids in this release. The Autodesk 3ds Max exporter has been updated in v5.3 and the reader for Z+F laser scan point cloud data has been improved.
Bentley AutoPLANT Central Server Support
To enable AutoPLANT users “to see the whole picture” JetStream now supports access to AutoPLANT projects stored in databases, in addition to the existing support for standalone geometry and object property files. This enhancement, specific to proprietary AutoPLANT projects, is consistent with our database support policy. Recognising that linking to data is becoming increasingly important, JetStream v5 offers an interface to allow easy access to ODBC databases for bringing through properties such as cost, shipping dates, and other specialist data to allow the 3D model to become the digital information hub.
Bentley Building Electrical Systems (BBES) Support
JetStream v5.3 enhances our support of Bentley Building Electrical Systems (BBES) files as a result of introducing support for ACIS-based SmartSolids. This development complements the existing Parasolid support to deliver comprehensive SmartSolid support for .dgn, for improved object and property viewing of files created by MicroStation v8 and above.
PDMS Origin Point Support
The JetStream RVM Reader is improved in v5.3 with support for Origin Points contained in .rvm files. These come through as visible points that can be selected and used to accurately measure distances within the 3D environment.
