Alpharetta, Ga., Jan. 12, 2006: Capping another year of continued solid growth and increased market acceptance for its signature Internet-based project management and collaboration solution, Constructware® achieved a 70% increase in year-over-year sales compared to 2004; 250% of which is attributed to new business. The significant increase in new business sales further validates that owners and contractors alike are recognizing the benefits of online collaboration and project management adoption throughout the design and construction lifecycle.
“Our continued success in generating strong annual growth combined with increased market acceptance confirms Constructware’s ability to provide the industry with a strategic solution for enhancing communication across program and project teams,” says Scott Unger, President and CEO, Constructware. “
In addition to the significant increase in sales to first-time client companies, the 70% growth is also attributed to a mix of renewals and expanded license purchases by existing Constructware clients. Major multi-year engagements included ENR Top 100 general contracting firms and owner firms in the following vertical markets: retail, financial, pharmaceutical, education, transportation and government. Under the multi-year license agreement concept, the entities will standardize on Constructware as their collaboration and project management solution. Over 28,000 active users are now working in Constructware to manage their projects.
Unger noted several factors leading to the increase in new business for large-volume, multi-year enterprise agreements in 2005, as well as overall increased utilization by hundreds of client firms. These reasons, cited by both large and small companies, included:
- Increased market recognition of the importance of controlling program and project communication
- Better understanding of where traditional, legacy applications fall short
- Predictable pricing structure and lower total cost of ownership
- Significantly improved collaboration with business partners
- Internal benefits of centralized documents, data and project information
- Standardized processes and best practices
- Positive impact on accountability and decision making
- Continued product development focus on ease of use
Constructware clients also noted some key factors:
“The positive impact of fast, standardized communication across the project team cannot be overstated. It's amazing how a relatively small investment in technology can have such a wide-ranging impact. Constructware is playing a key role in our ability to deliver the Park to the public on time and on budget,” said Marc Boddwewyn, ASLA,Vice President, Hudson River Park Trust.
“We’ve been watching the market for the last five years and we saw Constructware as the company that was grabbing market share in the owner sector. A lot of these systems focus on the contractor market and lack some of the tools that owners need. Constructware has been able to adapt to the owner’s needs, and we found it to be more user friendly,” said client Dall Clark, Director of the Capital Project Management Division, University of Kentucky, in Lexington.
Continued Feature Enhancements and Service Offerings
Also contributing to the strong financial results and user acceptance, is Constructware’s continued focus on adding new functionality and service offerings to improve ease of use and increased adoption of its hosted Internet solution. Chief among these is the introduction of the Communication Specification that provides a clearly defined structure for conveying the intent of project team communication through the use of the Constructware solution. Additionally, the Communication Specification contractually binds team members and defines roles and responsibilities early in the process facilitating collaboration across the entire program or project team.
