MOORPARK, CA — June 20, 2005 — Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM®, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software for programming computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, announced today that GibbsCAM will be featured at the upcoming Five-Axis Open House to be hosted by Methods Machine Tools, Matsuura Machinery Corporation's USA Distributor, in Sudbury, Massachusetts, on June 21st -22nd. In addition, Bill Gibbs, founder and president of Gibbs and Associates, will be participating in a panel discussion on future trends in 5-axis machine tools and software.

"We are extremely pleased to support Methods Machine Tools at this event," stated Bill Gibbs. "We have been a strategic partner of Methods and Matsuura for many years now and have worked with them to provide programming solutions for their entire range of machine tools. GibbsCAM supports Matsuura machines for 3-axis, 4th and 5th axis positioning, 4-axis simultaneous, as well as 5-axis simultaneous which is being highlighted at this event."

The full range of GibbsCAM functionality, including the new module supporting tombstone machining programming, will be demonstrated along with GibbsCAM's suite of 5-axis programming solutions. These modules provide a wide range of specialized capability for 5-axis machining including 5-axis drilling, 5-axis engraving, 5-axis edge machining, to 5-axis simultaneous surface machining. In keeping with GibbsCAM's signature ease-of-use, these modules maintain a level of usability which allows their powerful capability to be easily applied by the user. GibbsCAM's Cut Part Rendering allows the process to be visually verified prior to being sent to the machine tool minimizing costly programming errors. As with any other GibbsCAM option, the 5-axis functionality can be added to another other GibbsCAM option further compounding its capability and applicability. For example, combining it with GibbsCAM MTM introduces support for multi-task machine tools with B-axis configurations.
