SPRING Technologies shows NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS for Intelligent CNC Machining at the VDI "Industrie 4.0" Conference

Simplified programming and flexible production in the Smart Factory

Paris, January 19, 2016 - SPRING Technologies is participating in the upcoming "Industrie 4.0" conference of VDI (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure – Association of German Engineers) with an exhibition booth and live demo-point showcasing its innovative NCSIMUL software platform including the new module NCSIMUL CAM. The conference takes place on 27th and 28th of January 2016 in the Maritim Hotel in Düsseldorf/Germany and provides a platform for high-class knowledge sharing and the exchange of experiences on important aspects around the topic "Industry 4.0".

The term "Industry 4.0" describes the fourth industrial revolution and stands for a new generation of business organization embracing the entire value chain of the product lifecycle. According to the experts of VDI the Factory of the Future requires the availability of all relevant information in real time, connecting all assets involved in the value chain, as well as the possibility to deduce at any time from the data available the optimal value flow. Expert lectures, panel-discussions as well as the exhibition area within the VDI "Industry 4.0" Meeting will demonstrate to the visitors innovative solutions for the Smart Factory, concrete examples of use cases along the complete IoT - value chain from connectivity right up to simulation.

Maximizing Productivity, flexibility and collisions safety

With its unified software all-in-one platform NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS, SPRING Technologies supports manufacturers with CNC machines to achieve maximum flexibility, productivity and collisions safety in a smart factory environment.

According to Herbert Schönle, General Manager at SPRING Technologies and responsible for the DACH region, the topic "Industry 4.0" in the CAM process means primarily the following: "Manufacturing companies need to rely on seamless and interconnected process chains in order to achieve high-speed error-free programming, simulate machining operations and be able to produce with maximum flexibility within their shop floor."

"Industry 4.0" with NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS

Furthermore he adds: "With our NCSIMUL Solutions we can support manufacturers in automating their machining process, which can still be characterized as very labour intensive and prone to error, and maximize their production capacities on increasingly complex CNC machines. Programming errors are detected automatically -even before implemented- and set-up times reduced. Intelligent optimization means that we achieve great results in the reduction of machining time; at the same time we increase tool life and downtimes."

"With our latest release we make it possible for our users to switch their part machining between the different CNC machines without reprogramming and under consideration of the kinematics and CNC controller format of the machine. This is a revolution in NC Manufacturing, for our customers this means huge savings in costs and time, as well as maximum flexibility in their production", Herbert Schönle concludes.

A streamlined and bi-directional End-to-end Machining Process

In this context the new all-in-one CNC programming solution NCSIMUL CAM, enriching the existing CAM systems, provides a streamlined, bi-directional & seamless end-to-end machining process, simplifying the complete process of CNC programming. Manufacturers can thus quickly adapt their existing programs to new resources when retrofitting a machine, buying a new machine or repurposing the machining process and are able to switch to another machine, on the fly, with just one click.

Another important factor for optimising the efficiency in production is linked to the ability to track in real time the status of the machines and the production capacity of the shop floor. Simulation results can hereby be easily shared with NCSIMUL Player for the exchange of information within the organization or for external collaboration.

Furthermore NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS users have the possibility of using various Machining Cloud services. At the same time NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS meets also essential documentation requirements for PDM/PLM systems in a number of different branches of industry. With its real time synchronisation, both real and CNC virtual environments are perfectly balanced. "Mobile access combined with real time synchronization provides an essential tool for "Gen-Y" operators and programmers", as Herbert Schönle further explains.

Completing the conference as such, expert lectures by companies such as Bosch Rexroth, FESTO, Phoenix Contact, TRUMPF, SICK or Volkswagen, as well as various specialist lectures held by experts from the leading universities as well as of the renowned Fraunhofer Institutes will give the participants an insight into innovative solutions and best-practices and show how the digitalization of the machining processes can be used as a competitive advantage in industry.

SPRING Technologies looks forward to an interesting exchange of knowledge and experiences around the "Industry 4.0"-themesetting at the VDI Forum and to welcome visitors at the NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS booth with its live demo-point.
