Prima Power uses Datakit technology for 3D CAD data import

Lyon, France, September 21st, 2015 - The recent release of Prima Power’s NC Express e3 CAM software leverages Datakit technology for 3D CAD model interoperability. Prima Power has licensed a broad range of import formats from Datakit to support the need to get 3D data into NC Express e3 seamlessly.

NC Express e3 is a CAM software developed to get the best performance from Prima Power machines. It can unfold models precisely for further processing on Prima Power Laser, Punch and Combi machines. Components are nested efficiently with a new high-performance free-form nesting as standard. The proven and tested travel path optimization and post-processing produces reliable and fast NC programs for Prima Power machines. User can verify the NC program with a new simulation module, which shows the actual work path exactly as it is going to run at the machine.

We have designed a powerful software to create optimized NC-code automatically”, says Ivana Montelli, software product manager at Prima Power, “our software products are very good in 2D process management, and now, using DataKit CAD import libraries, we are able to add 3D CAD Import to better meet users’ expectations”.

Indeed, CrossCad/Ware, the CAD import SDK provided by Datakit, consists of libraries that can be fully integrated into software vendors’ solutions. It can read automatically all CAD data, including geometry, attributes, assembly, annotations, PMI, and metadata in order to enable software vendors to handle it into their application.

By integrating CrossCad/Ware, NC Express e3 can now create and optimize NC code from an extensive range of 3D file formats, such as STEP, IGES, ACIS, CATIA V4/V5/V6, Creo, NX, Inventor, Solid Edge, SOLIDWORKS and JT.

We are excited that Prima Power has chosen Datakit as their CAD import solution provider.” says Olivier Rigollet, CEO of Datakit, “Prima Power is a very well-known company, with great CAM solutions. With these new import functionalities, they have now a complete and powerful CAM software to provide with their machines. We are proud to facilitate the work of Prima Power users”.

You can meet Datakit and Prima Power at several exhibitions, to know more about their technologies and to understand how Datakit libraries helped Prima Power to enhance NC Express e3.

Datakit will be at EMO exhibition in Milano (Italy) from October 5th to 10th, 2015 (Booth B46, Hall 4).

Prima Power will be at Blech Expo exhibition in Stuttgart (Germany) from November 3rd to 6th, 2015 (Booth 3506, Hall 3), and at Fabtech in Chicago (USA) from November 9th to 12th, 2015 (Booth S931).
