This release of the company’s popular authoring tool features many enhancements for creating high-quality, advanced technical communications directly from any CAD model. The solution is particularly well-suited for complex or very large assemblies. The most important benefit of Lattice3D Studio v13.2 is the ability to produce an interactive 3D PDF directly from any CAD model—complete with animations and linkages to process steps and parts lists.

Intuitive Building of the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (BOM) with Visual Feedback
Manufacturing engineers know there are major differences between the engineering and manufacturing BOMs. One of Lattice Technology’s primary benefits to the manufacturing company is easy authoring of manufacturing BOM directly from the engineering BOM. With this release, the process has been simplified with the addition of advanced visualization. As parts are selected to be included in the manufacturing BOM, they disappear from the 3D rendering.
Thorough Collision Detection For Assembly Planning
The complete assembly process can be planned with Lattice3D Studio. Lattice3D will recommend part movements along their axis – which can be overridden by the user. Lattice3D Studio will capture any clash that occurs from the defined part movement. The effected parts will then be highlighted and “key frames” created. With Lattice3D, a keyframe is an interactive, 3D animation. Because the keyframe is interactive 3D, the user can rotate and reposition it to see any angle in order to thoroughly understand the collision. This interactive animation can then be used to modify the assembly process or to send it back to engineering for modification.
Advanced Renderings Directly from CAD Models
With this release, new features have also been added for generating high-quality renderings. Up to 6 cutting planes can now be specified, providing illustrators even more options for depicting inner assembly workings. In addition, the “single spot” light source has been added, bringing more realism to renderings. Shadows and reflections are also included. The rendered images can be saved in various formats including .png with transparent backgrounds.
