PLM-IRF Global Industrial PLM Survey into the Future of PLM closes on 13 March

Oxford, England. March 10, 2015 -- The PLM-IRF Global Survey into Industrial Expectations for the Future of PLM is open until Friday 13 March.

The aim of the Survey is to establish the PLM Practioners' view of the future of manufacturing industry, and the advanced PLM that will be needed to support it.

Early answers include far-sighted proposals for new models for business management, licensing, product data management and the structure of information itself. However, perhaps because this is an industrially-based Survey, the ideas are rooted in the real world, and many of them relate to what simply does not work in PLM after 20 years of trying.

This means that the Survey may form the basis of a Vision for PLM in 2025 that incorporates the best of new research and fulfilment of industry needs.

It will therefore be helpful if the Survey is answered by as many organisations, in as many countries around the world, as possible.  Every PLM practitioner is urged to participate by the March 13 closing date.

Participation in the Survey is open to PLM users, vendors, service providers, and consultants - in fact, every PLM practitioner who is involved with the application of PLM, rather than with research into PLM.

Everyone who returns a completed copy of the Survey within the timeframe will receive the Summary results. Survey Documents can be downloaded from the PLM-IRF web site, and should be returned to Email Contact.
