PLM-IRF Launch gives the PLM industry a voice

Oxford, England. Jan 19, 2015 -- The PLM industry has an estimated size of over $20bn, and has existed for well over a decade, but still has no platform for deciding its long-term direction. The future development of PLM currently depends on the conflicting interests of vendor competition.
This competitive drive does result in progress, but it also means that many future possibilities for PLM are just not being investigated.
The PLM International Research Foundation initiative is providing a new platform for industry debate at its Launch Meeting in Brussels on 27-28 January.
Subject to visa clearance, leading researchers from the USA, Canada and South Africa will meet their European counterparts to discuss the aims, practicalities and structure of international PLM collaboration. At least three vendors will be there to add their views to the debate.
So, at last, the PLM industry has a meeting of minds that can discuss, define, agree, and plan for the most advanced future that PLM can achieve. The PLM industry has a voice, if only for two days.
Registration for the Launch Meeting is open until 22 January, and more information is available via Email Contact.
