Multi-Threaded Forming and Spingback Solvers, Assembly Tools for Cost Analysis, and Continuous Improvement Tools for Stamping Simulation and Costing

Aimed at all sheet metal forming and costing engineers, designers, and estimators in the Automotive, Aerospace, Consumer Product and Electrical/Electronic industries, the main objective of FormingSuite 2014 and FTI CATIA V5-Based software is to introduce new leading edge technology to stamping simulation and to provide continuous improvement to all users in a unified collaborative environment.

This new release delivers major productivity and usability gains and allows companies to spend more time on knowledge-centric tasks that win new business and more efficiently execute existing projects. Productivity boosters, workflow and accuracy enhancements enable user’s new functionality in viewing, rendering, sectioning, measuring, and displaying components. New Nesting features for analyzing 2-blanks for transfer and progressive, updated Strip Nesting engine, and calculation of more solutions for angular constraints for all nesting solutions. Major updates to Stretch Webs including parametric geometry, full regeneration, “S” shaped webs, pilot holes, memory, and component extraction for managing assemblies. Performance enhancements were added to meshing, formability solvers, and springback solvers which are now fully multi-threaded to support multi-core processors. Additionally, springback compensation has now been introduced.
