MakerBot & One of Its French Resellers, Le FabShop, Transform Department Store into 3D Printing Makerspace, April 3 to May 9
PARIS — (BUSINESS WIRE) — April 4, 2014 — For five weeks this spring, MakerBot® Replicator® 3D Printers and one of MakerBots French resellers, le FabShop, will transform the Paris department store Le BHV Marais into a contemporary factory where customers can discover 3D printing on five floors of the store and become creators themselves in a series of 3D printing workshops. Beginning April 3 and running until May 9, Le BHV Marais will turn into Grande Fabrique where MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers will be featured on every floor 3D printing everything from housewares to fashion. The store window on the Rue de Rivoli will also showcase MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printers 3D printing all day. For visitors to the store, 3D printing workshops will be offered each day; the schedule is available online at bhv.fr. Le BHV Marais is located at 52, Rue de Rivoli, Paris 75004. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:30 to 20.00; Wednesday, 9:30 to 21.00.

One of MakerBots French resellers, le FabShop, is coordinating and managing the installation of MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers at Le BHV Marais. Le FabShop will be offering 15 do-it-yourself workshops focusing on the design and printing of 3D files. Workshop registration and fees vary from 80 to 120 euros for four-hour workshops. Every floor at BHV will have MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers on display where visitors can see the 3D printing process up close and personal, noted Bertier Luyt, founder and president of le FabShop. This is an incredible opportunity for le FabShop to bring the 3D printing magic of MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printers and scanners to a large audience, with more than 30,000 visitors expected per day, and almost a million visitors over the course of the five weeks. La Fabrique du BHV Marais will be Frances largest 3D printing exhibition to date! Our close relationship with MakerBot, the global leader in desktop 3D printing, and the support of Le BHV Marais, allowed us to think big for this event. MakerBot has also 3D printed several miniature Paris landmarks as souvenirs for visitors to purchase. These souvenirs include the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Pyramid, Arc de Triomphe and Basilique du Sacre-Coeur in Montmartre. Each 3D printed souvenir will be 5 . A Bird mobile will also be available for 90 .
MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printers and the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner will also be available on-site for purchase during and after the duration of the event.
