CCE Addresses Growing Demand in CAE Space by Extending Support to Linux Platforms

 

 

CAD-Independent Read and Write libraries to work with Linux platforms

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (May 22, 2013) - CCE, a leader in advanced interoperabilitytechnology, announced that in response to a growing demand from customers in the CAEspace, it has successfully completed porting of its 3D CAD interoperability technology toLinux platforms.

“Over the years, we have noticed rapid proliferation of Linux in a wide base of engineeringsoftware, especially in CAE,” said CCE’s V.P. of Sales & Marketing Vinay Wagle. “With theexpansion of our technology to support Linux platforms, we offer a complete portfolio of theindustry’s most extensive 3D CAD read and write interoperability technology, and address adirect need of the CAE software market.”

Currently, the libraries for Red Hat and SUSE Linux platforms are being distributed tointernal teams and general availability is slated for July 1, 2013.

CCE is the only independent interop provider in the world that produces robust libraries fordeveloping comprehensive native bi-directional 3D data translation capability. Thetechnology can be used for enhancing the ability of an application to read and write multiple3D CAD formats, across different platforms, thereby expanding the reach to a widercustomer base.

“Coming shortly on the heels of our recent Mac OS support, the support for Linux platformsproves our constant commitment to invest in technology to meet our customers’ evolvingneeds,” said Wagle.

File formats currently supported by CCE’s interoperability technology includes CATIA V4,CATIA V5, CATIA V6, NX, SolidWorks, Pro/E (Creo), JT, Solid Edge, Parasolid, IGES, STEPand 3D PDF. Applications developed using CCE’s technology is independent of any form ofCAD software or licensing. Operating systems supported include Windows, Mac OS andLinux.
