PADT Adds Objet Line of Polyjet 3D Printers to Product Portfolio

TEMPE, AZ – March 4, 2013 – Phoenix Analysis & Design Technologies, Inc. (PADT) is pleased to announce the expansion of its product portfolio to include the full line of Polyjet 3D Printers from Objet in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah.  Since the merger of Stratasys and Objet, PADT has been working towards certification and we are now able to offer both technologies to our customers.

Use in PADT's rapid prototyping services business has shown two significant differentiators for the polyjet technology:  the variety of materials available and the precision of the parts they make. Because the Polyjet systems use ink-jet printer heads, they lay down small droplets of photocurable material, allowing the resolution of each to be as precise as 600 dpi, and the layers themselves to be as thin as 16 microns. The same ink-jet technology also allows for the use of a wide variety of material.  In fact, over 100 different materials can be made by mixing two different materials during the build.  This allows materials that have the properties of ABS, Polypropylene, rubber, or transparent plastic.  And materials can vary on a given layer or from layer to layer. Another set of ink-jet heads allow for the deposition of a water soluble support material, that is easily washed away to make the post processing of parts made on a Polyjet machine simple and fast.

These advantages fully compliment the advantages of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology developed by Stratasys, that PADT has been using and selling for almost a decade.  Mario Vargas, manager of PADT's 3D Printer sales team said "We have been a user of Objet's polyjet technology in our services business for some time now, so when the merger of these two companies was announced, we already knew how complimentary these technologies were.
