PDTec Strengthens its Position in Simulation Data Management

February 28,m 2013 - The german-based PDTec AG reports success with their Simulation Data Management System „SimData Manager“ and expects significant future growth. The company decided to capture the global market potential and called Albrecht Pfaff as an officer of the company responsible for worldwide Sales and Marketing. Pfaff, who led a SDM-business before joining PDTec, served 30 years in the CAD, CAE and PLM market (6 years at General Electric and 22 years at MSC). He sees PDTec well positioned to further expand the Simulation Data Management business and gain more market share across various industries.

“SDM has huge potential for most simulation departments in helping them standardize and automate their processes and work more efficiently. Today, too much time and efforts have to be spent to align simulation data and release levels in a concurrent, global development process.” so Pfaff, “Moreover, SDM must not be exclusive for large corporations only, SMEs and engineering service companies as well shall be able to exploit the full potential of SDM.”

SimData Manager is a perfect solution for simulation teams of any size as it is easy to deploy and can easily be adapted to customer specific needs.

“We have a full production reference installation implemented at a leading sports car manufacturer in Germany, supporting various disciplines (e.g. Crash, NVH, CFD, MKS, Acoustic, Passenger safety, Occupant safety)” says Guenter Staub, one of the founders of PDTec. “The great benefits of SDM however, are not limited to the automotive industry, also many other industries, such as manufacturing, aerospace or power generation can take significant advantage by standardization and automation of their virtual product development environment.”

“The fully-integrated PLM process may not stop at the front door to the simulation department“ says Pfaff, “as simulation and functional assessment of newly developed products are key success factors for the overall virtual product development process.”

SimData Manager comes with built-in integration capabilities, also developed by PDTec, to easily connect to PLM. With its well-known expertise also in PLM technology and systems, PDTec is uniquely positioned to leverage the complete potential of an integrated PLM and SDM environment.

“With the components of our PDMconnect, we can take advantage of proven technology to integrate SimData Manager with PDM” says Dr. Anna Wasmer, “so relevant information can be synchronized in both directions”.
