PATHTRACE TO EXHIBIT IN WESTEC, March 22 – 25, 2004
(Southfield, MICHIGAN) – March 8, 2004 – Pathtrace will be one of the many companies participating in WESTEC Advanced Productivity Exposition (APEX), taking place on March 22 – 25, 2004, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, California. This premier event presents metalworking technologies used in the production of world-class products. Sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME); American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association (AMTDA); and AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology; the 4-day exposition is expected to attract manufacturing professionals ranging from company executives to production engineers.
In booth #3168, Pathtrace will display the latest release of EdgeCAM, Version 8.5 with exciting new features and enhancements that will benefit all EdgeCAM users. EdgeCAM’s new profiling cycle allows the user to generate toolpaths on 2D geometry, 3D surfaces and solids. The main advantage to the user is a consistent interface and support for advanced features and functionalities in both 2D and 3D environments. EdgeCAM 8.5 offers support for sub-spindle and B-axis lathe configurations in the Code Wizard and all turning configurations have been brought into line with the new style code generator. This allows turning users to benefit from EdgeCAM’s advanced turning functionality and ensures a consistent programming approach throughout. A new intelligent option inserts trochoidal moves where required, but only if possible. An additional Minimum Radius option prevents the tool from entering areas that are too narrow for Trochoidal moves to be generated. The new options lead to reduced cycle time, constant stepover and improved tool life and cutting conditions.
Education and training are critical to production and cost efficiency. The WESTEC conference includes SME-sponsored technical programming addressing advanced manufacturing technologies and processes. Pathtrace CEO, Steve Sivitter, will present a paper called “Maximizing the Investment of your Solid CAD System” on Wednesday, March 24th at 9:30 am.
