Said Dan Meyer, President and CEO of Comet Solutions, "Earlier this year we closed an equity capital round for the purpose of expanding resources and activities in sales, marketing and customer support. Now we have recruited the right people to lead global and U.S. sales efforts. They will capitalize on our momentum demonstrated by recent new sales with customers like General Dynamics Land Systems in the U.S. and new partnerships including JSOL Corporation in Japan." Comet is not only building on its current customer base in the space systems, off-highway vehicle and high-speed rail industries but is driving into other vertical markets, such as automotive, aviation, defense and consumer products, both internationally and in the U.S.
Steve Brown, Vice President of Global Sales, comes from Dassault Systemes, where he led sales for North American Automotive. Prior to Dassault, Brown served in sales leadership roles at other PLM companies, including SDRC, MSC Software and CoCreate Software. "Comet Solutions is bringing a unique and disruptive solution to the Design Space Exploration studies with which all companies start new projects," Brown said. "Making the right decisions in this concept phase can determine if the project is right to market or ultimately profitable. Unfortunately, the vast majority of companies run out of time during this concept phase before developing a high degree of confidence in their design choice. Comet overcomes the challenge of highly siloed software environments and enables huge breakthroughs for companies to get the most out of their many simulation technologies and thus get the answers they need early in the design cycle."
Don Bieniek, as Director of U.S. Sales, brings to Comet 26 years of experience selling CAE, CAD and product data management software and professional services to the automotive, motor-sports, aerospace, and defense industries. Bieniek joins Comet from LMS North America, where he was Major Account Manager for Aerospace & Defense. Previously, he was Sales Account Executive with MSC Software.
Charlie Sweeny was hired as Senior Customer Applications Engineer to collaborate closely with customers and global partners to make them successful. Sweeny has more than 15 years experience in the application of CAE software to solve engineering needs in the automotive and government sectors. He joins Comet from recent customer support roles at Exa Corporation, BETA CAE Systems USA and Vanderplaats Research and Development. "Our commitment to accelerated growth in the U.S. is essential for our global success," he said. "We have hired outstanding individuals who are proven in the CAE industry, but also bring complementary skills for the vertical markets Comet is targeting."
