3D PDF event held by PROSTEP was highly successful

Darmstadt, Germany, July 11, 2012 – On 12 June, PROSTEP held a 3D PDF event for management executives for the very first time. The high-caliber event was a resounding success.

High-ranking representatives from more than 40 companies from a number of different branches of industry were provided with a wealth of valuable information. Executive managers from three of PROSTEP's partner companies traveled from the USA especially for this event.

David Opsahl, executive director of the 3D PDF Consortium, delivered the keynote address on interoperability in the context of product development and provided information about the consortium's current activities. Phil Spreier from Tech Soft 3D provided insight into development tools for 3D PDF, and Craig Trudgeon, CTO from Tetra 4D, talked about the minor differences that are crucial when generating 3D PDF in the context of mapping business processes.

The event was neatly rounded off by presentations on the use of 3D PDF in business practice, which also demonstrated the broad range of possible applications that 3D PDF offers. Benteler Automobiltechnik AG, one of the leading automotive suppliers worldwide with more than 30,000 employees, has introduced 3D PDF within the framework of global collaboration.RWE AG, one of the leading energy providers in Europe with more than 70,000 employees, use 3D PDF for visualizing damage to boilers.

Those attending the event showed great interest in the topics presented and took full advantage of the opportunity to have their questions answered at first hand. Constructive and inspiring discussions developed in the unique ambiance of the Hilton Frankfurt Airport, located in the spectacular new “The Squaire” building, leaving participants with lasting impressions and new impetus for the use of 3D PDF.
