Donald Jasurda Presents “Dimensional Engineering and Tolerance Analysis: Do It Right the First Time”
TROY, Mich., April 11, 2012 -- Dimensional Control Systems, Inc. (DCS), provider of quality management software solutions and consulting services, today announced that Vice President Donald Jasurda will address automotive professionals at the 2012 SAE World Congress. The event will be held at Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan, April 24 through 26.
Jasurda will kick off the Virtual Design & Engineering session, IDM301, at 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, in Room D0-04B. The session showcases the creation and application of tools that allow for the design and manufacture of parts, equipment, facilities and tests without physical part prototyping early in a program.
The DCS presentation, “Dimensional Engineering and Tolerance Analysis: Do It Right the First Time” will focus on how simulation-based tools used in a “closed-loop” dimensional engineering-based quality management process enable users to identify potential engineering issues in the virtual world without the use of physical prototypes. Jasurda will highlight real-life case studies where automotive OEMs and suppliers have used such tools to quickly predict and respond to the affects of variation on product quality; identify and fix engineering problems in the earliest phases of product development; and address key “fit, finish and function” questions to optimize quality.
This year’s World Congress will focus on the new and diverse connections that will drive significant advancements in the auto industry of tomorrow, including the connections and relationships between engineers who are developing the next generation vehicle technology.
"Automotive companies can use a closed-loop quality management approach to save costs, speed time- to-market, and address quality issues early in product development," said Jasurda. “I look forward to showing engineers how to use this innovation to identify and address potential quality issues in the virtual world.
