PAS Technology Releases Inspection Lifecycle Management Suite

New software suite will be presented at Solid Works World 2012

Cresskill, New Jersey, December 26, 2011 – PAS Technology ( www.pastechnology.com), the leader in CMM inspection automation, is announcing the release of the new PAS Inspection Lifecycle Management Suite, empowering manufacturers to establish a complete, automated inspection process from a CAD model to trusted inspection results. 

The PAS Technology Inspection Lifecycle Management (ILM) Suite automate the entire inspection process, eliminates the need for data translation throughout the inspection process, creating seamless integration between design, manufacturing, and inspection. Using the PAS ILM Suite, users can generate inspection plans directly on-model and output inspection results to FAI-compliant or other forms. Providing users with visual inspection results, the software enables interactive analysis at every step of the inspection process


The PAS Technology Inspection Lifecycle Management (ILM) Suite consists of three modules:

  • PAS CMM Viewer is the base module, allowing users throughout the supply chain to view, collaborate, analyze, simulate, and comment on inspection results.
  • PAS CMM Engineering provides engineers with additional capabilities to automatically transform a part CAD model into inspection instructions that can be output directly to the inspection report form (FAI or any custom form).
  • PAS CMM Inspection is the most advanced module, providing the complete capabilities of the ILM Suite, enabling end-to-end CMM programming and inspection automation for any CMM machine.

PAS CMM Viewer – Intelligent, intuitive, for everyone in supply chain

PAS CMM Viewer enables users to view the inspection CAD model at any stage of the process (provided they have permission) and analyze detailed inspection results, inspection program code, and other related information.  Users can also simulate inspections and run “what-if” scenarios. In addition, PAS CMM Viewer features “on-model communication,” allowing users to add comments directly on the inspected model to streamline collaboration with team members, customers, and throughout the supply chain. 

PAS CMM Engineering package - above and beyond “ballooning”                         

PAS CMM Engineering is an automated inspection model preparation package. The software streamlines the inspection process by promoting standardization and data integrity. It eliminates manual inspection interpretation and helps cut inspection programming time by up to 95%.  With only few mouse clicks, users can generate complete inspection instructions and balloon drawings directly on the inspected model. CAD CMM Engineering ensures that trusted inspection results are reported directly to predefined forms (including FAI forms), eliminating the time spent on correlating results with an unfamiliar inspection report. Once the model preparation is finalized, the software automatically encapsulates all CAD and drawing data with CMM inspection analysis and inspection instructions for the next step in the process, the actual inspection.  

PAS CMM inspection package – CMM programming in minutes  

PAS CMM Inspection is an automated inspection programming solution. Analyzing the inspected CAD model with the associated annotations, parameters, and GD&T, PAS CMM Inspection automatically generates inspection programs for any CMM machine, eliminating the labor-intensive task of manually creating CMM program. It enables CMM experts to focus on their core inspection skills that require high level of engineering capabilities with extensive geometrical and inspection regulation knowledge.  

PAS CMM inspection allows CMM experts to generate any type of report form, including FAI standard forms, and read directly from the CMM machine inspection results to the pre-defined form. PAS CMM inspection helps inspection departments become more productive, cut costs, eliminate inspection bottlenecks, and expedite delivery times.
