3D data permeates every functional area of today’s manufacturing enterprises; design, analysis, manufacturing, quality, publications, shop floor, marketing, finance, etc. To be a successful enabler, Interoperability needs to communicate in the language of the each specific market. The language of engineering is curves, surfaces and solids. The language of manufacturing is all of that plus PMI. The language of simulation is a mesh. The language of the shop floor is an interactive assembly guide. The language of the marketing department is a high resolution image. True interoperability solutions today need to address this by mining the appropriate data from the file based on audience. And it has to provide this in a format that can be managed by PDM systems so that it can be moved across the organization.

3D data consuming applications want what they need – and only what they need – and they want it now. See how today’s technologies can calm the tantrums.
