Durability & Fatigue Seminars from Safe Technology
Exploring the modern theories and practical application of Fatigue and Durability
Noted fatigue & durability authority, Professor John Draper of Safe Technology Ltd (UK ), will be visiting Downers Grove, Illinois, September 12th - 16th 2005, to present a series of fatigue and durability seminars hosted and sponsored by Belcan Corporation.
A regular speaker at conferences worldwide, Professor Draper has over 25 years' experience in fatigue design and life assessment in the aerospace and ground-vehicle industries.
These courses will provide an introduction to modern theories of metal fatigue and their practical application through worked examples and interaction/discussion. There is a strong emphasis on what is possible and the pitfalls to avoid. A professional volume of course notes forms a self-contained reference book.
Durability by Design
Date: September 12th (Downers Grove, IL)
Fee: No charge
This seminar is designed to illustrate problems that can now be solved using durability analysis software for FEA models. A technology update in key areas of fatigue analysis such as multiaxial fatigue, effects of temperature, notch sensitivity and residual stresses will be provided.
The seminar will cover:
- Why traditional methods of metal fatigue analysis get it wrong
- An introduction to modern methods of metal fatigue analysis and why they get it right
- Theory overview of uniaxial & multiaxial fatigue
- Case studies & tools demonstrations
- An introduction to using fe-safe with FE software
- Highlights of advanced and unique capabilities in fe-safe such as a fully integrated signal processing capability, high temperature and creep fatigue, fe-rotate, analysis of complex loading histories
