ANSYS, Inc. to Acquire CADOE Software

Acquisition Enhances ANSYS, Inc. Leadership in the Evolution Of Simulation Technology

CANONSBURG, Pa., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- ANSYS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANSS - news), the global innovator of simulation software and technologies aimed at optimizing the customers' product development process, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire CADOE S.A., a leading-edge independent software vendor that specializes in the CAD/CAE market.

James E. Cashman III, chief executive officer and president for ANSYS, Inc., stated, "The acquisition of CADOE S.A. into the ANSYS, Inc. family provides the CAE industry with unique, state-of-the art technologies. This acquisition is attractive to customers, shareholders, and employees for its complementary technology, growth potential, and market presence. It is consistent with our stated strategy of leading the evolution of simulation technologies. We believe that by leveraging ANSYS, Inc.'s global sales and marketing resources with CADOE's outstanding technology, market penetration will accelerate, particularly in high growth market segments."

"The acquisition of CADOE S.A. by ANSYS, Inc. provides new opportunities for both organizations to further develop breakthrough and innovative solutions for the CAD/CAE markets that accelerate the application of CAE simulation results to design decisions. CADOE expects to enhance their growth potential and to deliver its state-of-the-art products to a wider range of high-growth markets such as electromagnetism (hyper frequency), electronics, and computational fluids dynamics. Furthermore, CADOE's focus has always been to provide its customers with a variability approach by delivering Design Handbook Tools, as customers are no longer satisfied by Design Validation Tools alone," stated Bruno Reymond, co-founder and managing director of CADOE S.A. "Customers look for trends and a better understanding of simulation results that can help them make design decisions earlier in the product development process. Customers and partners of CADOE will directly benefit from this acquisition by working with a company that is truly leading the evolution in simulation technology."

Based in Lyon, France, CADOE was founded in 1994 and has been recognized as the technological leader in Parametric analysis. CADOE develops unique and innovative industrial solutions for parametric analysis and optimization that can be applied to many disciplines:

Computational Fluids Dynamics, Structural Analysis (static and dynamic), Electromagnetism, and Acoustics. Their client base includes Michelin, Renault, Airbus, EADS, Peugeot Citroen, Air Liquide, Onera, Thales, Framatome, France Telecom and a variety of additional clients.

"The acquisition of CADOE will support ANSYS, Inc.'s continued global outreach through this established and trusted company. CADOE will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of ANSYS, Inc. with operations remaining in Lyon, France," continued Cashman.

The CADOE method gives, with one single analysis (one single mesh, one single solve), all the results corresponding to the variations of the design parameters. The software also provides a better understanding, very early in the product development process, of the relationship between design parameters and performance throughout the entire design space, and after a single analysis, CADOE automatically provides design curves, response surfaces, to even the most complicated product designs, in an easy-to-use way. That leads to a dramatic reduction in the number of design iterations, shortens the design cycle, lowers costs, and improves quality.

Additionally, CADOE S.A. offers unique collaborative engineering that provides analysis results in a format directly understandable by design engineers, facilitating collaboration between designers and analysis specialists.
