EdgeCAM links with Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire

READING, England, August 1, 2003 - EdgeCAM computer aided manufacturing software is providing an associative link with Pro/ENGINEER� Wildfire� native data.

Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, the latest release of Pro/ENGINEER from PTC, offers users more than 400 enhancements, including increased organizational productivity, improved user interface, intuitive workflow and an embedded web browser.

EdgeCAM Solid Machinist for PTC Granite� is a powerful CAM system for generating machining strategies and NC code specifically for Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire parts.

EdgeCAM Solid Machinist loads Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire parts directly via PTC’s Granite 2.0 interoperability kernel. This eliminates errors in data translation and improves design-to-manufacture time. In addition, toolpath to model associativity means that late design changes can be easily incorporated and machining strategy and NC code updated accordingly.
