CADWorx University is the world's largest AutoCAD®-based plant design event and this year's event marks the first time it will be hosted by Intergraph, which acquired COADE's plant design and analysis solutions earlier this year.

CADWorx University imparts best-in-industry knowledge to its attendees and increased value to the companies they represent with hands-on demonstrations, technical product presentations and senior Intergraph executives offering future direction for this industry-leading software.

The conference also will feature three international case study winners from the 2010 CADWorx University "Drivers of Success" competition. Judged on the impressive results from the use of the CADWorx Plant Design suite, the case studies will be presented by KBR Moscow and India-based Fichtner Consulting and Mech-Tech Projects.

Attendees also will gain knowledge on industry best-practices and the efficient use of CADWorx to produce world-class AutoCAD-based designs and deliverables. More than 45 classes and labs will be available to choose from, delivered from experts ranging from power users to Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions implementation staff and developers. In addition, the upcoming new version of the plant design software, CADWorx 2011, will be previewed at the conference. There will also be sessions pertaining to the interoperability and integration of CADWorx with Intergraph's CAESAR II, for pipe stress analysis and PV Elite for pressure vessel analysis.

This year's keynote speakers will be Patrick Holcomb, executive vice president, Global Business Development, Intergraph Process Power & Marine, and Thomas J. Van Laan, PE, senior vice president, Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Solutions. The executives will address the CADWorx and AutoCAD-based plant design market and future plans to integrate CADWorx output into and Intergraph SmartPlant Enterprise 3D designs for the efficient coordination and design of larger projects.

"Intergraph CADWorx, along with CAESAR II, PV Elite, and TANK has created value for users in many industries around the world," Holcomb said. "Intergraph is dedicated to its leadership role in all sectors of the engineering enterprise, and CADWorx University gives us the opportunity to reinforce our commitment to this innovative user community."

"The feedback from our CADWorx University alumni affirms the tremendous impact these solutions deliver and the knowledge our users receive and share at this event," said Van Laan.  "This year we

look forward to the continued exchange of ideas and best practices that will further elevate our users' experiences and results."

The Intergraph CADWorx Plant Design Suite for process plant design offers intelligent drawing-to-database connectivity, advanced levels of design automation and easy-to-use design tools. Because of these distinct advantages, EPC firms and owner operators in the process, power, water treatment, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and semiconductor industries have rapidly adopted it. CADWorx

also offers the industry's first and only true bi-directional links between CAD and engineering analysis tools, linking CADWorx with Intergraph's industry-leading pipe stress analysis program, Intergraph CAESAR II and pressure vessel and exchanger analysis program Intergraph PV Elite.
