NGC Executive to Speak on "Sourcing from Emerging Locations" at MAGIC

MIAMI — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 16, 2010 — NGC® (New Generation Computing®) today announced that Roger Mayerson, a senior account executive for NGC, will speak at MAGIC 2010 about the challenges of sourcing from fourth-world countries. Mayerson will speak as part of a panel discussion on "Sourcing from Emerging Locations" on Wednesday, Aug. 18th at 11:30 a.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center, North Hall 2nd Floor, room N259.

Mayerson is an industry expert in apparel and retail sourcing, serving as Executive Vice President/Director of Sourcing at Ivory International and VP Product Development/Global Sourcing at Casual Male Retail Group prior to joining NGC. Mayerson also held executive positions at Kohl's Department Stores and Target.

Mayerson's talk will draw upon his own expertise as well as NGC's 28 years of expertise in delivering software solutions to help brands and retailers manage product development and global sourcing. "As retailers and apparel companies broaden their sourcing horizons to include emerging countries, they must be aware of the challenges that await them – a lack of technology and logistics infrastructure, as well as a scarcity of technical knowledge and local expertise," Mayerson said. "In addition, sourcing executives will face much longer lead times in these countries." Mayerson's talk will focus on the realities of working with emerging locations, as well as strategies for success.

The session will be moderated by Julie Hughes, president of the U.S. Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel and also includes the following speakers:
