Concepts NREC displays TurboGreen™ turbomachinery expertise at the ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo in Glasgow, June 14-18

Presents three papers to leading gas turbine industry professionals and members of academia during annual conference.

White River Junction, VT. – May 24, 2010 – Concepts NREC (CN), a world leader in turbomachinery design, research, engineering, and manufacturing, will exhibit in Booth 244 on June 14-18 at the 55th ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo in the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre in Glasgow.  Three Concepts NREC engineers also will present papers during the event’s Turbine Technical Conference.  Turbomachinery engineers, designers, manufacturers, and students from across Europe will benefit from CN’s more than 50 years of expertise.

“We have an extensive network of customers and Concepts NREC Support Distributors (CSDs) throughout Europe,” says Illias Mustafa, Sr. Sales Manager, EMEA for Concepts NREC.  “While at ASME/IGTI in Glasgow, we will demonstrate our green initiatives technologies and highlight activities with proven European customers who benefit from our computer-aided engineering and manufacturing (CAE/CAM) software and engineering services.”

Concepts NREC has enjoyed success with its TurboGreen Energy solutions for solar, wind, hydro, tidal, wave, geothermal, and biomass energy resource technologies, including recently publicized hydroelectric, hydrogen compression, turbocharger, and wave conversion solutions.  Company representatives will be at the booth to discuss technologies, capabilities, and current projects.

Plus, Concepts NREC engineers will share the company’s turbomachinery expertise during three technical sessions:

1)    Tuesday, June 15, 08:00 AM-10:00 AM - Centrifugal Compressors II, “Numerical Characterization of the Inlet Flow for Eleven Turbomachines” (GT2010-22366), presented by Dr. Colin Osborne, Chief Engineer for Concepts NREC.

2)    Tuesday, June 15, 10:15 AM -12:45 PM - Turbochargers & Components I, “The Mixed Flow Forward Swept Turbine for Next Generation Turbocharged Downsized Automotive Engines” (GT2010-23366), presented by Dr. Nick Baines, Distinguished Corporate Fellow for Concepts NREC.

3)    Wednesday, June 16, 08:00 AM-10:00 AM - Centrifugal Compressors IV, “Analysis and Validation of a Unified Slip Factor Model for Impellers at Design and Off-design Conditions” (GT2010-22164), presented by Mark Anderson, Vice President of Software for Concepts NREC.

CN’s participation at ASME/IGTI 2010 is part of an expanding program of activities that CN will roll out in the coming year to support the growing success in Europe and beyond for its turbomachinery software, services, and education.  For more information about forthcoming events, webinars, and courses, please visit www.ConceptsNREC.com.
