International Glass Maker Schott AG Uses Genius Inside to Manage International ERP Application Rollouts

MONTREAL and GENEVA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 19, 2010 -- International specialty glass maker Schott AG has chosen Genius Inside's Genius Project software as its primary management tool for rolling out enterprise resource planning applications to 4,500 users all over the world.

Schott is a $3 billion manufacturer of precision and industrial-strength glass. The company selected Genius Inside as the project management platform for its SAP Service and Demand Management applications rollout project after a three-month search that included a long list of requirements. Among the requirements were integrated workflows; customizable interfaces; data security and integrity; compliance management; integration with daily business processes; and localization capabilities.

"The main driving reason for our choice lay in the fact that Genius Project fulfilled all the requirements of the Demand and Service Management project and provided a one-stop solution," said Christian Weil, head of ITSM-1 Service Support Business Applications. "Pricewise, Genius Project was also very attractive and competitive, and it allowed us to leverage our existing Lotus Notes platform."

Genius Project software enables managers to take control of projects that can spread over many different workgroups, departments and time zones. Genius Project encompasses every strategic and tactical project management function, from workflow and e-mail notifications to "what if?" analysis, risk and resource management, timesheet and expense reporting, portfolio management and collaboration features. Schott manages all project time for its 65-person SAP implementation team in Genius Project. Team members use the Web interface to enter incidents directly into the system, and all resources are centrally managed from Genius Project as well.

"The broader a project's scope, the more aggressively it has to be managed to ensure it's on time and within budget," said Laurent Baravaglio, Genius Inside managing director R&D and services. "Schott's SAP implementation is a perfect example of how to use a solution like Genius Project to centralize project administration while giving project team members the flexibility to get the work done quickly and efficiently."
