Locator for SkyMail earned the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge award on Wednesday, June 18th during the NAVTEQ awards event. The NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge is a global program that invites application developers around the world to build innovative location-based services (LBS) that work with mobile phones and/or wireless handheld devices using dynamic positioning technology and NAVTEQ maps. The awards event was part of CommunicaAsia 2008, a premier global information and communications technology tradeshow held in Singapore. Winners were selected by an esteemed panel of judges made up of executives from leading wireless carriers, handset manufacturers, tool and platform providers, and venture capitalists. It also provides increased accountability. With Locator for SkyMail, enterprises can enhance their SkyMail messaging, including the ability to attach an interactive map, the location coordinates, and the physical street address of their position along with their SkyMail message. PDV will receive $157,500 in cash and licenses in conjunction with this award. Moreover, SkyMail has earned several other industry awards this year, including the 2008 Andrew Seybold Choice Award.
