Earns Microsoft Dynamics(TM) Award Excellence in Innovation

ORLANDO, Fla., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Convergence -- Computer Generated Solutions, Inc. (CGS) today announced that their customer, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) was recognized by Microsoft(R) with a 2008 Microsoft Dynamics Customer Excellence Award for Excellence in Innovation and honored by Microsoft executives at an awards luncheon held today at Convergence 2008, the premier Microsoft Dynamics user conference.

The 2008 Customer Excellence Awards, which are presented in 12 categories, recognize and celebrate Microsoft Dynamics customers that have achieved notable accomplishments using CGS Microsoft Dynamics solutions.

ASME was recognized for its strong commitment to Excellence in Innovation. Working with Microsoft Dynamics Gold certified partner CGS, based in New York City, ASME delivered on innovation and vision excellence for implementation, business process improvements, and use of technology

One of ASME's goals was to upgrade its entire back-office infrastructure (from ERP to CRM and Supply Chain systems). The requirements included the need for a more agile, scalable, robust and flexible environment. The new environment needed to support not only ASME staff (around 400), but also its active volunteers (around 10,000) and almost five hundred thousand customers. ASME needed its new environment to integrate seamlessly with existing web applications and other systems that would need to exchange information with new back-office systems.

Working together, ASME and CGS were able to establish and execute an innovative vision which enabled ASME to not only meet its objectives but also shift its focus from technology requirements to providing enhanced benefits and services to their members and the industry that they serve.

Established in 1997, the Customer Excellence Awards, formerly named Pinnacle Awards, are awarded each year at the Convergence user conferences in the US and Europe. Microsoft Dynamics customers, partners and team members submit nominations. Judging teams for each of the 12 categories rated nominees on creativity, vision, and business benefits. Top winners from each category were then reviewed by a panel of six Microsoft executive judges for final approval. As part of that final review all winners were chosen along with the customer who deserved the Overall Excellence Award. Microsoft Dynamics is a line of financial, customer relationship and supply chain management solutions that help businesses work more effectively.
