FISHER/UNITECH Reclaims Position as Top Stratasys Reseller in North America in 2007

TROY, Mich.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 3, 2008— FISHER/UNITECH, a leading engineering technologies firm serving the Midwest, today announced its achievement of number one Dimension reseller status in North America for new machines sold in 2007. The Dimension 3D Printer represents a breakthrough in large format rapid prototyping technology, with office-friendly machines starting at $18,900. The Dimension printer is an integral component in FISHER/UNITECH's mission to provide the manufacturing industry with best-in-class product design software and hardware for process improvement.

For a growing number of designers that depend on 3D computer-aided design, 3D Printing is quickly becoming a critical part of the design process. Printing physical prototypes prior to manufacturing enables design teams to create better designs with fewer changes, lower production costs and achieve shorter time to market. Dimension printers operate in an office environment and produce fully functional 3D parts to test form, fit and function. FISHER/UNITECH has partnered with the Dimension 3D Printing Group and its parent company, Stratasys, for over ten years. The company has successfully implemented hundreds of machines through the Midwest and Great Lakes region.

New Product Announcement - 1200es

To meet market demand for an affordable, networked printer capable of producing stronger models, the Dimension 3D Printing Group released the 1200es series in February 2008. The 1200es, starting at $26,900, features a 10x10x12 build envelope and utilizes ABSplus(TM), a material that is 40% stronger on average than standard ABS plastic.

The Dimension 1200es aims to achieve the characteristics of injection molded parts while providing the largest build size in the 3D printing marketplace. ABSplus has superior mechanical properties, surface finish, feature detail and process speed.

Direct Digital Manufacturing

These developments open up a new market for the Dimension printer in the area of direct digital manufacturing for low-volume production. Direct digital manufacturing or DDM, allows companies to bypass the step of creating a traditional mold when bringing a new product to market. DDM eliminates the time needed for tooling set-up and can produce parts with complex geometry. This technology can help small to mid-size manufacturers save weeks or months of manufacturing time meaning shorter time to market, new business opportunities and increased revenue.

For customers who own a 1200 printer (not a 1200es), Dimension is providing an upgrade package for $5,000. In addition, FISHER/UNITECH is offering 0% leasing on the 1200es, with 12, 24 or 36 month terms. Customers can include one year of maintenance in the lease contract for additional savings.
