2007 North American International Auto Show To Host Automotive Education Day Today
DETROIT, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ --
WHAT: The third annual North American International Auto Show Automotive
Education Day presented by State Farm Insurance.
Automotive Education Day will provide students in grades 8 -12 with
the opportunity to have informal discussions with industry experts
about alternative fuel/technology, design, engineering and other
diverse career opportunities. School groups will also have the
chance to visit the NAIAS show floor and have lunch in the
Cobo Arena Food Court.
More than 7,000 students from various school groups throughout
Southeast Michigan, surrounding states and Windsor, Ontario
(Canada's border city) are expected to participate. During the
opening remarks students and instructors will receive backpacks and
prize give-a-ways.
Tickets for Automotive Education Day are $10 USD or $11.50 CAN per
student and includes lunch. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Program begins
at 9:00 a.m.
WHEN: Tomorrow, Jan. 17, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cobo Center.
Formal program will begin at 9 a.m. in Cobo Arena

OPP'S:
- Hillary Will of KB Racing LLC Top Fuel Dragster will
participate in an autograph session and will serve as the
featured speaker for thousands of students interested in
automotive careers.
- PA Piston's announcer, John "Mason" will serve as the emcee for
the Opening Ceremonies at 9 a.m.
- Mia Cinelli, senior at Marquette Senior High School, and
recipient of the First Annual State Farm Artistic Award is
available for interviews. Cinelli's design is featured on a
State Farm free t-shirt for Auto Education Day attendees.
- Students can enter to win MP3 players inside Michigan Hall on
the lower level of Cobo Center. Participants must enter by
11:30 a.m.; the drawing will close at noon.
WHY: The NAIAS is excited to provide another great opportunity for young
people to experience the excitement of the automotive industry and
its products. The goal of NAIAS Auto Education Day is to encourage
students to learn more about the variety of career paths available
within the automotive industry.
