Newgen Imaging Increases Adoption Of Arbortext And Expands Relationship With PTC

NEEDHAM, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Sept. 12, 2006— PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the Product Development Company(TM), today announced the expansion of its engagement with Newgen Imaging, a Chennai, India based publishing company, with the further deployment of PTC's Arbortext solution for dynamic publishing. Newgen Imaging is deploying Arbortext to provide customised documentation creation and management services.

"Increasing complexity, growing customer expectations, shorter delivery cycles, and the need to manage content across multiple formats, languages and platforms are all challenges the publishing industry is facing," said Maran Elancheran, General Manager, Newgen Imaging Systems. "Arbortext has helped Newgen to manage many of these challenges, which is why we are expanding our use of this solution from PTC. The broader adoption of Arbortext will help Newgen grow the business, react faster to customer needs, and become a larger player in the Global Publishing Services Industry."

Arbortext is used throughout the world to automate the production of complex printed documents such as scientific, technical and medical journals, legal documents, technical documentation, catalogs and directories. In addition to reducing costs and production time, automation also gives publishers the flexibility to update information more frequently and to produce publications in more variations for multiple target audiences.

"Creating and sharing information has become increasingly complex, time-consuming and expensive as consumer expectations rise and delivery options proliferate. Arbortext's dynamic publishing capabilities automatically produce publications in limitless combinations on multiple types of media. Our customers gain a flexible and efficient dynamic publishing solution that is scaleable, easy to use and powered by the industry standard, XML technology," said PG Bartlett, Vice President Product Management for Arbortext products, PTC. "Our expanded relationship with Newgen Imaging Systems is a strong validation of this, and highlights the increasing scope of the Indian publishing services industry."

Since its acquisition of Arbortext in July 2005, PTC has focused on making the capabilities of the Arbortext technology more widely available to customers operating across geographic boundaries and within heterogeneous IT environments. As a result, Arbortext software is geared towards helping customers solve their most pressing publishing needs, specifically those related to the global production and delivery of technical documentation, product catalogs and product information.
