Johnson Controls Named As A GM Supplier Of The Year

Major global supplier of auto interiors and batteries has earned top GM honor 10 times in past 11 years

PLYMOUTH, Mich., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Johnson Controls, Inc. (NYSE: JCI), a leading global supplier of automotive interior components and batteries, has been honored among an elite group of companies named winners of General Motors Supplier of the Year awards. The recognition is based on Johnson Controls' outstanding business performance during 2005 in providing GM with world-class parts and services.

The prestigious award was presented to Johnson Controls executives during ceremonies held on Saturday, April 29 at the General Motors Vehicle Engineering Center in Warren, Michigan.

Johnson Controls has gained GM Supplier of the Year award recognition 10 times during the past 11 years. The company has been named among GM's top suppliers 11 times overall.

The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, General Motors honored 85 suppliers for their excellence throughout 2005.
