MatrixOne Powers Digital Media IP Management For Imagination Technologies

WESTFORD, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—July 19, 2005— MatrixOne, Inc. (NASDAQ: MONEE), a leading provider of collaborative product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the value chain(TM), today announced that Imagination Technologies has adopted MatrixOne's Synchronicity Publisher Suite with IP Gear(TM) to manage its portfolio of innovative silicon and software intellectual property (IP). Imagination Technologies develops and licenses IP for system-on-chip (SoC) devices that are at the heart of some of today's most advanced multimedia and communication applications, including mobile devices, digital TV and radio receivers, in-car information and entertainment systems, PCs, arcade/gaming machines and games consoles.

Imagination Technologies offers an expanding range of complementary IP cores, licensed by many of the world's leading silicon device suppliers including Freescale, Philips, Renesas, Samsung and TI. Licensing partners can tailor their SoC designs by combining one or more of these cores with supporting IP enabling rapid time to market and reduced development costs. Imagination Technologies selected MatrixOne's Synchronicity Publisher Suite to provide a comprehensive IP management and distribution solution to improve productivity, quality and customer service.

Imagination Technologies is utilizing the IP Gear Catalog to distribute and track sensitive IP to reduce complexity, errors and duplicated efforts. Critical to the company's customer service efforts, the IP Gear Helpdesk enables customers to be directed to the most appropriate content expert so that issues are resolved efficiently. The IP Gear Helpdesk provides a system to deploy common customer support methodologies across globally dispersed groups, and thus leverage best practices. Its rich functionality and many features facilitate knowledge sharing and quick problem resolution to reduce support costs.

"Our customers are very demanding. We needed a solution that could better manage, catalogue and distribute our wide ranging IP," said John Metcalfe, VP operations, Imagination Technologies. "MatrixOne provides us with several key business benefits, but most importantly, it will significantly streamline and improve customer service."

MatrixOne's Synchronicity Publisher Suite with IP Gear bundles IP Gear Catalog and the IP Gear Helpdesk to form a complete solution to manage, distribute and support silicon and software intellectual property (IP). The IP Gear Catalog is an advanced solution designed to operate on the public Internet with robust security and access controls. The IP Gear Helpdesk is a complete support system with integrated issue tracking and a knowledge base of past solutions.

"Companies like Imagination Technologies and their customers are changing the way electronics companies bring new products to market," said John Fleming, senior vice president and general manager, electronics, MatrixOne. "MatrixOne's Synchronicity Publisher Suite with IP Gear provides the robust, secure infrastructure and business capabilities to enable new collaborative business models that improve cycle time and reduce costs."
