Ipswich City Council Delivers User Friendly Mapping

December 09, 2013 -- Members of the public will be able to use a new, free online mapping system from Ipswich City Council to find out more information about the city’s properties and zoning. This will allow the public to check planning issues down to individual property level through easily navigated ‘layers’ of information.

Councillor Tully, Planning and Development Committee Chairperson from Ipswich City Council said “This online mapping system provides much more user friendly mapping information about the city's properties and zonings,

"From any computer in the world you will be able to access the most useful data council holds on a property including its zoning, lot size, accurate fence-line maps and development information.

"The capacity to immediately update maps of Ipswich with emerging information means that in times of crisis there will be the capability to display how a weather event is unfolding in real time."

Ipswich City Council uses MapInfo Stratus to provide the real-time, online mapping to the public.
