Manufacturers: Prepare for Takeoff at the Manufacturing Conference & EXPO in Cleveland

NASA Will Look for Signs of Great Products and Design at First-of-its-Kind Event

CLEVELAND, Jan. 26, 2012 — (PRNewswire) —  Imagine NASA landing on The Galleria in downtown Cleveland and discovering a world filled with talented manufacturers and inventors. The minds of the NASA researchers start to race with wonderful ideas of inventions that can lead to incredible advancements. Together, job shops, inventors and major research entities like NASA Glenn, conquer the world through a manufacturing revolution.

Such momentous events will begin to unfold February 14 & 15, 2012, during the Inaugural Manufacturing Conference & EXPO in Cleveland. More than 3,000 attendees and 175 exhibitors from across North America will be meeting, sharing ideas and finding that last piece of the puzzle that leads to unbelievable success.

American manufacturing is preparing for takeoff, and The EXPO is the launching pad. Here, manufacturing realizes its full capabilities, and individuals see incredible accomplishments on the horizon.

"This event presents a significant opportunity to strengthen NASA Glenn Research Center's continued success and its value to the region," says Glenn Director Ray Lugo. "By developing partnerships with local entities, we hope to move commercially relevant technologies farther along the path to commercialization."

NASA Glenn Research Center, one of Northeast Ohio's most revered entities and a driving force for some of the country's and the world's most innovative projects, will have about 12 engineers with licensable technologies present at The EXPO, including advanced single-wall carbon nanotubes, high-temp/low-met resins for liquid molding, advanced materials design and analysis tools and materials data management software.

Lugo is also one of the featured speakers at The EXPO. He will speak about NASA's role in an Ohio "manufacturing revolution," but his words will be prescient for all of the expected 3,000-plus attendees representing the manufacturing industry throughout the United States and Canada.

The Manufacturing Conference & EXPO is presented by The Manufacturing Mart and is sponsored by Penton Media Design Engineering Group, The City of Cleveland, The Galleria at Erieview and Studiothink.
